Our garden maintenance rate is $85 per hour, per person.

There is no flat minimum booking fee, so a homeowner who needs help with a particular garden area does not have to purchase a large maintenance package simply to have the work done.

The total cost depends primarily on:

• How heavily the beds are weeded or overgrown
• The amount of cleanup and debris removal

A garden that has been regularly cared for will normally require less work per visit than one that has been left for a long period and needs to be brought back under control.

Debris disposal is charged separately when required and depends on the amount of material being removed.

What Garden Maintenance Does Your Property Need?

There isn’t one landscape maintenance package that’s right for every Nanaimo garden.

The appropriate service depends on the plants, the property and what you want from the garden.

A newer planting may need regular weeding, watering attention, shaping and plant care while it establishes. A mature garden may need more selective pruning, perennial care and control of plants that have begun competing for space.

How Often Should Your Garden Be Maintained?

How often a garden needs maintenance depends on how quickly it grows, the type of planting and the standard you want to maintain.

Some Nanaimo gardens benefit from weekly or bi-weekly visits during periods of strong growth. Others can be kept under control with monthly maintenance, while lower-maintenance properties may only need concentrated work in spring and fall.

When Should Garden Maintenance Be Done in Nanaimo?

You don’t have to become a regular maintenance client to have us work on your garden.

One-Time Garden Cleanup

A one-time cleanup can be a good choice when a garden has become overgrown, seasonal work has fallen behind or you simply need help getting the property back to a manageable condition.

Depending on the garden, a cleanup may involve:

• Weeding
• Pruning and trimming
• Cutting back appropriate plants
• Clearing planting beds
• Bed edging
• Leaf and debris removal
• General garden tidying
• Mulching or soil improvement where required

Once the cleanup is finished, you can continue maintaining the garden yourself or ask us to recommend an ongoing schedule.

Regular Garden Maintenance

Regular maintenance is better suited to homeowners who want the garden consistently looked after without having to keep up with the work themselves.

Scheduled visits allow us to deal with the garden progressively throughout the growing season rather than waiting until everything needs attention at once.

This can be particularly useful for established gardens with numerous shrubs, hedges, perennial beds and seasonal plants, or for homeowners who enjoy their garden but no longer want to spend their free time maintaining it.

There is no requirement to commit to more maintenance than you need. We can discuss the property, your expectations and your budget and establish a practical schedule from there.
