Artificial Turf Applications

Artificial turf can be installed in different areas of your landscape depending on how the space will be used. We install artificial turf for residential lawns, pet areas, small or difficult spaces, and around patios and other hardscaped areas.

Residential Lawns

Artificial turf can replace natural grass in your front yard, backyard and other residential lawn areas. A properly prepared base provides a stable surface with drainage underneath, giving you a lawn that stays usable without mowing, watering or regular lawn maintenance.

Pet-Friendly Turf

Artificial turf can be installed in areas used by your dogs and other pets, giving you a durable surface that does not develop muddy patches or worn areas from regular use. We prepare the base and drainage to allow water to move through your turf and away from the surface.

Small & Difficult Areas

Artificial turf works well in narrow side yards, small lawn areas and locations where natural grass is difficult to maintain. It can provide consistent ground cover in spaces where access, shade or the size of the area makes regular lawn maintenance impractical.

Artificial Turf Around Patios & Hardscaping

Artificial turf can be installed alongside your paving stone patio, walkways and other hardscaped areas to create a clean transition between landscaped and constructed surfaces. We can shape and edge your turf around existing features to suit the layout of your landscape.

How Do We Determine the Right Artificial Turf Installation for Your Property?

Artificial turf putting green installation nanaimo

Before installing artificial turf, we assess your property and how you plan to use the area. Your existing ground conditions, drainage, slope, access and intended use can all affect the type of artificial turf, base preparation and drainage required for your installation.

Our team examines your area and recommends an installation approach suited to your property. A small residential lawn, pet area, putting green or heavily used outdoor space may require different turf products and preparation. Poor drainage, unstable ground or difficult access can also change how we excavate, prepare the base and install your turf.

Artificial turf is not a one-size-fits-all installation. If conditions on your property make a standard installation unsuitable, we can recommend additional drainage, different base preparation or another approach before your work begins.

Our install process

Step 1: Excavate the area down 4 inches and compact, making sure there is no soil or organic matter left under the base.

Step 2:  Installation of 3″ perforated pipe and drain rock to make sure we have an efficient drainage system for our turf.

Step 3: We install and compact our base in layers, making sure we end up with a minimum of 4″ compacted gravel base professionally graded ready for our artificial turf.

Step 4: Lay down the turf, making sure everything is running in the same direction, then cut our edges.

Step 5: Once the turf is laid , we glue all seams, support the edges with durable edging and galvanized metal pins are installed every 6 inches.

Step 6: Sweep in our premium infill sand to protect the backing material, turf fibers, as well as lift the blades and smooth out any wrinkles, and complete the installation.
