Obstacles to overcome:

  • Detailed drainage system – Deal with surface water and drainage around the property
  • Elevations and grading – Adjust grades to work with large tree and roots on neighbors property

Q: What was removed before the new landscape went in?

A: The project started with excavation, clearing all existing materials from the yard, followed by concrete footings for the new steps, walls, and deck before any hardscaping began.

Q: How was the neighbor’s tree handled during grading?

A: The crew adjusted elevations and grading carefully to work around a large tree and its root system on the neighboring property, while building a detailed drainage plan for surface water.

Q: What makes this yard low-maintenance?

A: Custom synthetic turf replaces a lawn that needs mowing, and an architectural concrete planter plus a natural stone wall keep planting beds structured, all watered by automated irrigation and lit with custom Kichler lighting.

Backyard
Escape

An entire backyard overhaul comprising of a swimming pool, hot tub and elevated planting areas. Rock walls were built using granite, for the elevation changes, measuring a total of 250+ linear feet. Desert sand and Taupe pavers were used for the driveway, landing and walkway and totaled to approximately 2,000 sq. feet. An irrigation system was added as well as low voltage garden and paver lighting for entertaining after dark.

Ocean
Terrace

Renovation of sloped landscape design based on views of the sea, spa, as well as tiered areas for plantings. Our team maintained the gradient using 600+ lengths of preserved lumber as well as stabalizing materials, established an patio on the top level of over 800 sq ft and detailed system for ground water. We transported all materials manually, because there was no space for machinery, and this project took over 2,400 man hours through two phases.
